I’m getting excited about a great panel I’m moderating at the Associated Press Media Editors Conference in Nashville on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012. You remember rock super-groups? I think I’ve got a digital super-group for the panel.

The morning panel is called “You First Saw This on Twitter and Facebook” and it’s part of “Social Media Day” at the APME Conference being held at the John Seigenthaler Center.

The panel hopes to explore how getting the word out has changed for companies and organizations  There should be some great insights and useful tips.

Here’s my super-group of panelists:

Chad ParizmanChad Parizman, as director of community and social media for Scripps Networks Interactive, is one of the highest profile social media experts in Knoxville.  He provides leadership on social media trends and strategies for the website, ad sales, marketing and on-air teams at Scripps, as well as social media guidelines to be adopted by the company’s top senior executives.  Parizman is also responsible for the development of a cohesive blog strategy across Scripps’ Home category websites including HGTV.com, DIYNetwork.com, HGTVPro.com and FrontDoor.com; his new blog strategy for HGTV resulted in a 200+ percent year-over-year growth. 

Rex HammockRex Hammock is the founder/CEO of Hammock Inc., a Nashville-based media and marketing company he formed two-decades ago. Hammock Inc. creates and manages a wide range of magazines and digital media and various forms of media and content for corporate, association and non-profit clients. He speaks regularly on topics related to digital content, social media and new media  at media and technology conferences, universities and seminars. He may be best known outside his professional circles, however, for his blog, RexBlog.com. it’s a  recommended must-read by numerous marketing, media and business publications and websites. If you don’t read it, you should.

Rick BlairRick Blair is fascinating guy. He has more than 30 years of publishing, business development and electronic media start up experience, He most recently served as the CEO of Clarity Digital Group, overseeing Examiner.com and NowPublic.com. During his tenure at Examiner.com, he led the site to become one of the largest news and information sources in the country. He was also a key player in the reemergence of AOL’s content strategy and was the creative force behind AOL’s Digital City. Blair is an angel investor with adviser relationships with Verve Wireless, Eviesays.co, Closely.com (board member), Celljournalist.com, Happenings Media, Planet Earth and The Pursuit Group.

Beverly KeelHey, we’re in Nashville; we’ve got to have the music industry at the table. Beverly Keel is Senior Vice President of Media & Artist Relations of Universal Music Group Nashville, where she is responsible for developing and implementing extensive media campaigns for the company’s roster. Before joining UMG Nashville, Keel was an award-winning music journalist and pop culture commentator who covered the music industry for two decades, including a decade as the Nashville correspondent for People Magazine. She also was a  celebrity columnist for The Tennessean.
